Uganda Visa : Uganda – the pearl of Africa is an open destination to all people from different corners of the world. Her peace and stability has seen quite a number of people make their way to the country, some come to visit whereas others come to stay.

It is therefore important for one to know the requirements before choosing Uganda as their next destination. Knowing about Uganda Visa is important since it is one of the major requirements to enter the country whether you are a tourist, business person, transit traveler, student or diplomat.

Process of acquiring a Uganda Visa.

Applying for a Uganda visa can be done online but the charges incurred depend on the purpose or category of the individuals applying for the visa.

After one has submitted their application, it will undergo a verification process by an immigration officer who will then provide feedback and approval to the applicant via the email provided.

NOTE: initial approval does not guarantee entry to Uganda; therefore individuals may be subjected to secondary verification where necessary upon arrival.

The requirements and application fees for different categories of Uganda visa are as follows;

Diplomatic visa.

  • Diplomatic passport (Bio-data page and cover page) with at least six months validity.
  • Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
  • Recent passport size photograph.
  • No application fees.

Official.

  • Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
  • Recent passport size photograph.
  • Support documents for official visa.
  • Diplomatic passport (Bio-data page and cover page) with at least six months validity.
  • No application fees.

Uganda ordinary / Tourist visa.

  • A letter stating reason for transit and country of destination.
  • Return Ticket.
  • Cover letter detailing the purpose of visit.
  • Support Document for the purpose of visit (Medical).
  • Immigration Status of the Host.
  • Invitation letter.
  • Travel itinerary.
  • Recent Passport-size Photograph.
  • Passport bio-data page with validity of at least six months.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination certificate.
  • 50$ application fees / per person.

Transit Visa.

  • Passport (Bio-data page with at least six months validity).
  • A letter stating reason for transit and country of destination.
  • Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
  • Recent Passport-size Photograph.
  • 50$ application fees / per person.

East Africa Tourist Visa.

  • Travel itinerary.
  • Return Ticket.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.
  • Copy of recent Passport size Photograph.
  • Copy of the passport (Bio-data page).
  • 100$ application fees / per person.

Multiple entry visa.

6 months.

  • Passport (Bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity.
  • Recent Passport size Photograph
  • Valid Police clearance from Interpol or home country
  • Recommendation letter from two (2) referees in Uganda
  • Cover Letter stating reasons for Multiple Entry.
  • Proof entries and exits into Uganda in the last one year
  • Yellow Fever vaccination Certificate.
  • 100$ application fees / per person

12 months

  • Recent Passport size Photograph (not older than 6 months)
  • Police clearance from Interpol or home country
  • Yellow fever vaccination Certificate.
  • Recommendation letters from referee Two (2) in Uganda
  • The passport (Bio-data page)
  • Cover Letter stating reasons for Multiple Entry
  • Proof entries and exits into Uganda in the last one year
  • 100$ application fees / per person

24 months

  • The passport (Bio-data page).
  • Recent Passport size Photograph (Not older than 6 months).
  • Police clearance from Interpol or home country.
  • Proof of entries and exits into Uganda in the last one year.
  • Recommendation letters from referees, one (1) in Uganda.
  • Cover Letter stating reasons for Multiple Entry.
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate.
  • 200$ application fees / per person.
