7 Days Uganda Safari Holiday : This is a primate and wildlife safari taking you to Uganda’s prime safari destinations. It is a somewhat short tour with each of its days well maximized with safari activities that will make every moment a time to remember. The 7 days Uganda safari will take you to Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth national park for a boat cruise and game drive, Kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking and community tour in Isunga village and Bwindi national park for gorilla trekking and visiting the Batwa community.
The tour involves a stopover at the Uganda equator and any other points of attraction. It gives an opportunity to spot quite several beautiful things including the lions, leopards, impalas, buffalos, elephants, warthogs, hyenas, mountain gorillas, chimps, and differnt kinds of monkeys.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrive and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
On arrival at the airport, you will be received by our company representative who is also your safari guide for the trip. Head to Lake Mburo National Park with an en-route stopover at the Uganda equator in Kayabwe. The park is also the smallest savannah park in the Uganda but amazes with a variety of beautiful animals such as the impalas, giraffes and the zebras among others.
Arrive and head straight to the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: A day of exploration in Lake Mburo National Park
Take a game drive in the morning and an afternoon boat cruise in exploration of the park. The game drive rewards you with sightings of zebras, impalas, Topis, giraffes and and buffaloes. Hyenas, jackal, and leopards are present in the park but occasionally spotted. The boat cruise gives an opportunity to see crocodiles and hippos. You will have breakfast, lunch, dinner and the overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Leave L. Mburo National Park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will be able to take part in gorilla trekking and visiting the Batwa community the next day. The journey will take about 5 hours drive but memorable. En-route, you will enjoy the scenic views of Kigezi highlands and the vast green banana plantations. Arrive, check in to the accommodation facility and relax, enjoying the views of Bwindi forest and the tranquility.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community
Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to the park offices to take part in the gorilla trekking adventure. Briefing will commence at the offices of the park followed by a walk into the forest with a park guide who will ease the location of the assigned gorilla family. After an hour with the gorillas, you will return to the park offices, pick your trekking certificates and drive back to the lodge.
In the late afternoon or perhaps early hours of the evening, you will head out for the Batwa community experience for an insight about how these people lived in the gorilla forests for more than 300 years. Also, attend dance with them to their traditional music and see how they make natural fire with sticks. You will thereafter, head back to the lodge for your dinner.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha sector and boat cruise
Set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park early morning, passing through Ishasha sector where you could sight some tree climbing lions. Ishasha is located in the southern part of the park and is more of a wilderness. Other animals you may spot while on this transfer include buffaloes, elephants and Uganda kobs among others.
You will head to Mweya for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where you should expect to see crocodiles, hippos, and several bird species including pied kingfishers, long-tailed cormorants, pink-barked pelicans, African fish eagles and African spoon-bill among others.
Day 6: Game drive and transfer to Kibale national park. Afternoon chimpanzee tracking
Have a morning game drive to catch up with early raisers such as Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants and buffaloes. These mammals attract predators in the park including lions and leopards and then the spotted hyenas which come to look for left overs of these two cats. After, head to Kibale national park passing through the Ndali – Kasenda craters and have your lunch at the booked lodge .
Head for an afternoon chimpanzee tracking starting with a briefing at Kanyanchu Visitors’ Centre. This briefing introduces trekkers to the park, wildlife in the park, chimp tracking and its guidelines plus the kind of behavior to maintain while in the forest. The trek will take about 3 hours including an hour in the presence of the chimps. Head back to lodge booked where you will spend the last night of your 7 days Uganda safari.
Day 7: Short Isunga community tour and transfer back to Kampala.
Have a short tour in Isunga community and this will cover tea and coffee plantations experience where you get to learn about the two main cash crops grown at the edge of Kibale National Park as one of the methods used to conserve wild animals. Later, you will head back to Kampala while driving through the tea plantations, natural forest and road side markets. An enroute lunch n Mubende town, proceed with the journey and be dropped at Entebbe International Airport.
