Tour Overview

This 6-day Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth luxury tour takes you tracking the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi forest and viewing wildlife in the plains and around water bodies of Queen Elizabeth National Park. In regards to transportation, you will spend less time in transit when connecting from Entebbe or Kajjansi to Queen Elizabeth National Park as compared to the road transfer, then connect to Kisoro airport and from Kisoro airport or Kihihi airstrip back to Entebbe or Kajjansi. You will stay at Gorilla Heights Safari Lodge, Buhoma Lodge, or Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge while in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and at Mweya Safari Lodge or Elephant Plains Lodge while in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Detailed safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your lodge

By the time you arrive at the airport, our company representative will already be there to receive you. Meet and greet, then they will lead you to the vehicle after the briefing about your safari. Drive to your lodge in Entebbe where you will have dinner and the overnight.

Day 2: Fly to Mweya or Kasese airstrip

Your safari driver will pick you up from your Hotel after having morning breakfast and drive to Entebbe or Kajjansi airstrip for your flight to Kasese. Depending on the location of your accommodation, you could fly to Kasese or Mweya airstrip. On arrival, our company representative and safari guide for this tour will transfer you to your lodge, have lunch, and relax. Later on in the evening, you will head out for an evening game drive. The exploration offers a chance to catch some sights of elephants, leopard, and hyena among others. Buffaloes and Uganda kobs are common.

Return to the lodge for dinner and the overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

You will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and set off for a game drive in the Kasenyi. As you drive there, you may spot some animals along the way. This is another day of exploring the plains with chances of spotting animals including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, waterbucks, and more. After about 4 hours of the drive, you will return to the lodge and freshen up. Have lunch and go for a boat ride on the famous Kazinga channel. It is an interesting 2 hours launch trip to watch various wildlife along the shores including crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs, and lots of bird species. The water channel is home to a huge population of hippos and you will watch them throughout the trip. Then get back to the lodge and relax.

Day 4: Fly to Bwindi

Right after having breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Kihihi or Kisoro. Wherever you will fly to, our company representative will receive and pick you up from the airstrip to your lodge.

Duration of domestic flight: 1-1.5 hours, road transfer: approximately 2 hours

Optional evening activities: nature walk, birding, and Batwa community visit

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest

This day starts with an early morning breakfast, and you’ll have lunch packed at the lodge restaurant, then head to the park offices. After the briefing about gorilla trekking, you will be assigned a gorilla family and then set off to look out for it. The forest is home to other animals including monkeys, chimps, and various bird species that you might come across.

When you encounter the gorillas, you will spend a precious one hour with them, learn about their behaviors, watch them go about their day and take photos. Thereafter return to the offices for your trekking certificates and drive back to the lodge.

Day 6: Return flight to Entebbe or Kajjansi

As you wind up your 6 Day Uganda safari, you will enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at your lodge and check out. The safari driver transfers you to the airport or airstrip to fly to Entebbe or Kajjansi. When you arrive there, our company representative will receive you and drive you to the airport for your flight back home.
