You will be grouped into groups of not more than eight members, assigned a specific gorilla family and then a guide or ranger to lead you into the forest.

Volcanoes national park hosts 11 gorilla habituated families that are available for trekking all day, every year. The activity can take as many as eight hours but there are many chances of encountering them within only 2 hours or even less. After meeting the gorillas, you will be given another 1 hour to spend in their presence as you watch them play, dine and mate. You are allowed to take as many photos as you wish as long as you are not using a flash light camera.

Alongside the mountain gorillas, you may see quite a number of other animal, bird and plant species that will brighten and beautify your whole experience.

In the evening, visit the Iby’iwachu Village and get to learn about the uniqueness of the natives here. They will bless you with local foods, traditional dance and other cultural performances. They are one of the most hospitable communities in East Africa.
