The ranger in charge of gorilla trekking at the sector divides all the visitors into groups and each is allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek. You are also given walking sticks to help you ascend on the hilly landscape of Bwindi. As you find your way through the lush forest, there is a chance to spot animals of the park such as monkeys, baboons, and other mammals.

Once you spot the gorillas, you are allowed to stay with them for a maximum of an hour and then return to the park offices, pick National Parkyour trekking certificates before driving back to the lodge.

Moving in groups of 6 visitors, 2 guides lead and offer more than just trail guidance but also share a lot of information about the tree species and other animals in the park especially those that are sighted along the trek.

Once the chimpanzees are found, you are allowed to stay with them for a maximum of one hour. It is a powerful moment with the primates; watching how amazingly they go on their daily life in the forest but also very playful and jumping from one branch to another or perhaps relaxing.
