Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Meet your local safari guide in Kigali and go through a short briefing just before setting off to the northwest. The drive takes you to the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes in Rwanda side. The 3 hours transfer offers travelers beautiful views of the countryside including endless hills and the greenery vegetation. On arrival, check into the lodge, have dinner, freshen up and relax.

Accommodation and Dinner at the lodge

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park offices for a briefing about the dos and don’ts when trekking. Thereafter hit the trails and get around the jungle for the allocated gorilla family. No one is certain about the duration of gorilla trekking since it all depends on how far the giants have moved as they spend most of the time roaming around the forest for food.

Once spotted, you are allowed to stay for a maximum of one hour with the gorilla family, learning about their behavior, watching how they take on their day-to-day activities, and capture photos for memories of the adventure. Later on, return to the park offices, meet your safari guide, and return to the lodge.

Trekkers move with their packed lunch so that if the trek lasts longer, they will have their lunch in the forest.
