3 Days Nyungwe National Park Tour

This is a great tour in Nyungwe national park where you will take part in two main activities, including the canopy walk and chimpanzee tracking experiences. The canopy walk will expose you to memorable aerial views of Nyungwe forest with different bird species and primates in the forest.

Chimpanzee tracking will take you into a face to face interaction with these chimps in the wild for an hour. On this tour, you will have a good time visiting the city-based attractions like the former presidential Palace museum, locale markets and Kigali genocide memorial grounds.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Meet and greet with your driver guide and immediately transfer to Nyungwe forest where you will spend up to 2 nights. This park rewards you with the best primate adventure and different bird species that you can meet on your visit.

There are over 13 primates and among others include the famous Chimpanzees – our fellow cousins, Vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and so much more. Arrive late in the evening and transfer to the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk.

Head to the offices of Nyungwe forest park for briefing after taking breakfast which will be done in the morning and a park guide will take you into the forest to start the search. Locate them and then spend an hour with them, where you will be able to witness their behaviors, take photos, and learn their movement.

There is a lot to spot while in the forest and among others include red colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and L’Hoest’s monkeys.

After this great adventure, you will head to the lodge for lunch, followed by joining another team for a canopy walk which will take you to a 79m high on top of the trees and a distance of 160m. This will grant you a chance to spot different animals like the colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, olive baboons, different bird species such as blue-throated brown sunbird and much more.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali city.

Head back to Kigali city and take part in a city tour if your flight is scheduled for evening or at night. Visit places like the Kigali genocide memorial grounds, local markets, the Richard Kandt museum, Belgian monument and Hotel Rwanda. You will later be dropped at the airport after this interesting adventure.
