On this 3 Day Murchison Falls national park safari, you will be able to discover several hidden treasures of the African jungle. It is an insight wildlife tour allowing you to see the African Big Five and explore the terrain of this big mass of protected area. The journey starts in Kampala/Entebbe depending on your location and ends where you started. The park is home to African elephants, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, lions, and leopards among others. most of these are seen during game drives while hippos and birds can be seen during the launch trip. It also includes a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola.
- Day 1: Transfer to Murchison and Rhino tracking
- Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
- Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala.
Day 1. Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park and Rhino tracking.
Early in the morning by 7:00 am, our professional driver will pick you up from your hotel and brief you about the journey, you will set off from Kampala and embark on your journey. A while after driving out of the busy suburbs of Kampala, you will branch off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will be tracking Rhinos. It’s a great experience, as this will be the start of seeing the Big Five. From here, you will proceed with your journey to Murchison Falls National Park where you will arrive in the evening and check in to your lodge.
Day 2. Game drive and Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.
By 6:20 a.m., you should be prepared to step out to the restaurant for breakfast and later on go for the game drive. This is the best time to see various animals, especially the nocturnal animals like hyenas, lions, and leopards as they wind up their hunting and find their way back to their hideout. Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and Jackson’s hartebeest plus savannah birds like the Abyssinian hornbill. At around 10:40, you will drive back to the lodge for some relaxation, have lunch, and go for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.
The launch cruise offers a chance to see several species of birds out of the about 450 bird species recorded in the park. It also takes you through schools of hippos while you may as well find some crocodiles lying on the river banks. The highlight of the boat cruise is the bottom of the falls which you will be given ample time to watch before returning to where you boarded the boat.
At the end of the boat ride, you will drive to the top of the falls and then back to the lodge.
Day 3. Transfer back to Kampala.
On this 3rd day of your tour, you will wake up at your leisure have breakfast, and check out of the lodge. Embark on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe.
