Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi

Day starts with breakfast at the lodge or residence in Kampala or Entebbe, meet the driver for a briefing and then set off. First stopover will be at the equator crossing to learn about the water experience and have a photo moment while pausing at the equator monument. Proceed with the approximately 10 hours journey driving through Mbarara town, Kabale and arriving at Bwindi in the evening.

Day 2: Gorilla habituation and Batwa cultural encounter

Ensure to rise up early, have breakfast, pack all the requirements for the trek and thereafter transfer to the park headquarters. You will meet the team you are joining and go through the briefing. Hit the trails and get on the search for the gorillas. In this case, you are looking for them from where they could have spent their night to get to start their day with them. Once they are spotted, we get on the countdown of the four hours. It is a thrilling experience of seeing how these creatures go about their daily life starting early morning.

There is a lot to learn from the researchers and ranger guides during the 4 hours with the mountain gorillas. Chances of sighting other residents of the forest such as monkeys, other mammals and various bird spices. At the end of the activity, you will return to the park headquarters and be awarded a trekking certificate that shows you have participated in conservation of these endangered primates.

Day 3: Return to Kampala

You will rise up and have breakfast, then check out of the lodge and embark on the return journey to Kampala. Another chance to enjoy the views of the countryside and perhaps some sights you could have missed like the activities of the locals.
