2 Days Remarkable Uganda Expedition : Experience the best of Uganda, “The Pearl Africa”, visiting some of the highlight and top safari destinations. Explore the capital city and game parks for an unusual moment. This 12 Day Uganda safari is a one of a kind encounter characterized by game drives, boat cruises, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking adventures in natural forests, pictorial moments at the Uganda Equator and scenic drives all through. It is quite a long journey but it is worth the time and investment.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe and Kampala city tour.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will meet our company driver guide who will drive you to the hotel of your choice within Kampala for a lip-smirking lunch. Check into the lodge and leave your luggage. Your arrival is meant to be in the morning.

In the afternoon, you will have a tour around the city and get to visit historical places such as the independence monument, Uganda Museum, Bahai temple, Nakasero market.

Return to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

After a morning breakfast, you will embark on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey involves two stopovers; one being at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. The area was established to conserve rhinoceros which were at the verge of extinction. The second stopover will be at any hotel of your choice in Masindi town from where you will have lunch.

Continue to the park and check in to the lodge of your choice for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

After a morning breakfast, you will head out for a game drive via Borassus Palm Forest and savannah grassland down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north. The drive introduces you to several bird and animal species. It is in Murchison Falls national park that you have an opportunity of seeing 4 of the Big five animals; leopard, lion, elephant and buffalo.

Return to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise which will take you to the magical Murchison Falls. You get to appreciate nature as Nile squeezes via the seven meter gap forming the powerful waterfalls. The cruise will also introduce you to semi-aquatic animals including the Nile crocodiles and hippos, plus water birds. You can also choose to climb the cliff up to the top of the falls for more exploration.
Return to your lodge for dinner and spend overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park.

After having breakfast, you will leave Murchison Falls national park and transfer to Kibale National park – the world’s primate capital.  You will have your packed lunch or can have a lunch stopover at any towns along the way. Other than Chimpanzees, Kibale Forest national park is home to other 12 primate species and some of them are the grey-cheeked mangabey, red colobus and red-tailed monkeys.

Upon arrival in Kibale, check in to the lodge of your choice for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Wake up early and have your morning breakfast, thereafter go to the park headquarters for briefing. You will be told about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking and then be assigned a guide. Enter the forest and start the search for chimps. Meeting them is an easy venture which is accompanied by views of several animals, plant and bird species. Chimps give amazing experiences as they play, dine and mate.

You will also have a guided nature walk into Bigodi swamp to explore the best of nature that features interesting bird species, more primates and attractive flora.

Return to the lodge for lunch before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth national park, check in to the lodge of your choice for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

An early morning breakfast will be followed by a drive to deeper parts Kasenyi in the north of Queen Elizabeth national park. The game drive will introduce you to different animal species such as buffaloes, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, to mention but a few.

Return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, go for the boat cruise at Kazinga channel – the home of birds. The 2 hours launch trip exposes several animal species that come over to quench their thirst. You have a chance to see lots of hippos and some good number of crocodiles. Kazinga channel boat cruise also characterized by scenic views of the neighboring peninsula, lush vegetation and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Guided nature walk in Maramagambo Forest and evening game drive.

After morning breakfast, you will meet your guide and go for a guided nature walk in the Maramagambo forest. The forest is reliable for birding having several bird species among which include but not limited to; Rwenzori turaco, flycatchers, African green pigeon, red tailed bristle bill, Ross’s turaco, dark capped yellow warbler, pink backed pelican, martial eagle, black bee-eater, white tailed lark, grey woodpecker, black emerald cuckoo, hairy breasted barbet, African emerald cuckoo, speckled tinker bird and purple-headed starling.

You will also watch the famous “Bat cave” which sometimes attracts pythons. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax from the nature walk and drive.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After a morning breakfast, check out your lodge and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. The journey takes you through plantations, rolling hills, trading centers, lush vegetation and the road is quite challenging thus requires a 4WD vehicle.

Check in to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight upon arrival.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking adventure.

The long awaited day for spending time with gorillas; You will have an early morning breakfast, and drive to the park headquarters for briefing about trekking. Authorities in charge of the activity will assign a specific gorilla family to trek after dividing the visitors into groups of not more than 8 trekkers. For an hour, you will be with the gorillas and see how they spend most of their time in the forest.

Return to the lodge for relaxation.

You can opt for a community walk to nearby Batwa villages in the evening.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10:  Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Breakfast in the morning and drive to Lake Mburo national park via Mbarara city. You can opt for a lunch stopover at Igongo Cultural center and get to learn about the stories of Ankole kingdom. Continue to Lake Mburo National Park via Sanga gate and to the park headquarters.

Check in to the booked lodge, relax and later on go for an evening game drive. It gives a chance to see some of the park’s wildlife including zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, eland and Uganda kobs among others. Back to the lodge for the overnight.

Day 11: Horse riding or Cycling and afternoon boat cruise.

After a morning breakfast, you will go for one more exploration of the park, this time round on the horse back or a bike. This gives an opportunity to watch animals while they are calm as there is no noise from the engine.

Return to your lodge for lunch before going for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo. The cruise will introduce you to semi-aquatic animals; crocodiles and hippopotamuses. It is also an opportunity for viewing bird species such as the rare shoebill stock, grey-crowned crane, Abyssinian ground hornbill, African fishing eagle, white winged warbler, papyrus yellow warbler, brown chested wattled plover, and African fin foot.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer to Kampala – departure.

Check out of the lodge after a morning breakfast and embark on the 4 to 5 hour drive to Kampala through Masaka city. You will have a stopover in Mpigi at Kayabwe for the equator experience. You can also grab something from the craft shop that will always remind you of the trip.

Continue to Entebbe International airport for departure.
