10 Days Best of Uganda Safari
Welcome To the pearl of Africa as you visit different national parks both savannahs and rain forested. Trek the primates like the gorillas of Bwindi and chimpanzees of Kibale, visit local communities like the Batwa, Batooro and Bakiga communities, engage in game drives and boat cruises in the savannah national parks, trek the rhinos at Ziwa rhino sanctuary which will make the safari to be called the big five animal complete safari in Uganda. There is a lot to explore more than what is mentioned above.
Day 1: Arrival and short city tour in Entebbe town. Head to the hotel in Kampala.
Be welcomed at the airport in Entebbe by the driver guide who will take you to tour Entebbe by visiting the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) and this place holds different animals and birds in captive locate on the shores of Lake Victoria. You will see animals like crocodiles, buffalos, elephants, lions, chimpanzees, Uganda kobs, leopards, cheetahs, olive baboons and many others.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park and a visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Head to Murchison national park the largest national park in the country and has the most powerful waterfall world. Have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will be able to trek one of the big five animals and this is a rhino.
They were recently introduced in Uganda after they had gone into extinction in early 1980s. Trekking these rhinos is rewarding as you take photos and spotting other animals like the duikers, Uganda kobs and many more. Proceed and you will find yourself in the Murchison falls national park at the booked lodge.
Day 3: Game drive, boat cruise and visit the top of the falls.
Take a morning game drive in the northern part of the park which is a savannah and it will grant you with an opportunity to spot different animals such as the giraffes, lions, leopards, buffalos, elephants, different antelopes like Jackson hartebeests, water bucks among others. You will then head for a boat cruise in the afternoon on the Nile where you will spot the Nile crocodiles, hippos and other animals on the banks grazing.
You will have an option of hiking to the top of falls or driving there but the most rewarding experience is hiking. The top rewards you with a wonderful view of the rainbow that is formed when water squeezes itself in a narrow gorge and this water makes a thunderous sound. Head to the lodge and check to start preparing for another adventure in Kibale national park.
Day 4: Head to Kibale national park and have a cultural tour.
Leave Murchison falls national park and embark on a long journey to Kibale national park a home 13 primates hence called the primate capital of the world. The journey to the park rewards you with different forest covered with primates like the colobus monkeys, olive baboons and much more, the table like tea plantations or estates, crater lakes like Nyabikere among others.
Arrive and take a community tour which will cover visiting the tea and coffee tour experience with Isunga cultural community. This initiative was started with an aim of protecting wildlife and cultures for both Bakiga and Batooro at the edge of Kibale national park.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for a boat cruise in the afternoon.
Have a great time in Kibale national park on this day after your breakfast. Chimpanzee tracking will begin immediately after briefing at Kanyanchu tourist center an hour will be allocated to you together with fellow trekkers and this will create everlasting memorable experience as you take photos, record short and long video clips among others.
There is a lot you will spot while on chimpanzee trekking like other primates such as the red colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, and red tailed monkeys. After, you will head to Queen Elizabeth national park and begin an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel, granting you an opportunity to spot crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffalos, and many more others. The boat cruise will last for 2 hours and after you will head to your lodge
Day 6: Game drive and head to Bwindi national park through Ishasha sector.
Have a morning game drive in the park premises where you will be in search for different wild animals and birds like lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, water bucks, warthogs and many others.
Game drive will last for 2 hours and later proceed to Bwindi national park, traversing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park while searching for the rare tree climbing lions. Check in the lodge on your arrival and this will be the end of the day.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community tour.
Have a great experience in your lifetime while taking gorilla trekking in the morning that will last for 2 to 4 hours depending on the location of these gorillas. An hour will be included while in their presence and all you need know is that like any other park activity, the experience will begin with briefing that will be conducted at the park offices after breakfast.
Head for a visit to Batwa villages who stay at the edge of Bwindi forest and these will entertain you with their cultural dances and music, taking you through natural fire making experience, art and craft will be displayed and you can support them by purchasing an art piece.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Have a long journey that will take about 6 to 7 hours covering a distance of 306km from Bwindi NP to Lake Mburo NP. This park is famous for homing the impalas that are normally found grazing alongside the zebras and the Ankole long horned cattle. The park is also known as the smallest savannah national park in the pearl of Africa – Uganda with over 300 bird species making a good deal for bird watching.
It is also dotted with different lakes and the main one being Lake Mburo where boat cruise experience takes place. Arrive and head to the lodge for your accommodation.
Day 9: Game drive and boat cruise.
Engage in the morning game drive, through the savannah plains taking 2 hours but quite rewarding as you spot different animals like impalas, zebras, elephants, buffalos, warthogs among others.
In the afternoon, you will head for a mighty boat cruise where you will be able to spot animals like the hippos and the crocodiles plus beautiful landscapes. This experience takes about 2 hours of boat cruising and so rewarding.
Day 10: Transfer back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator
Have breakfast and then transfer to Kampala with a stopover at a point where the equator crosses Uganda in Kayabwe. Have a great time of photographic moments, buy some souvenirs and maybe take part is watching the experiment.
Proceed to Kampala and the driver guide will drop you at either the hotel or airport depending on the agreed point.
